Three Types of Microphones For Your Computer

This article will frame the three types of microphone devices for your computer.

The first which is most base plugs into the back of your computer and this is a known as a standup mike. It would sit on top of your desk and capture all the sounds that it hears. This is the cheapest form of audio input device on the market. The second type of microphone that I would like to discuss in more information is known as a Usb microphone.

As you may have guessed a Usb microphone plugs into of procedure your Usb input and digitally transfers the sounds onto your computer. The capability is considered a higher accepted and so is the price. Most Usb microphones require no interface or added software.

The third type of audio input device of which I'm very excited about is still a Usb version microphone but has the added bonus of being wireless. These wireless microphones can give you much more freedom and allows you to walk up to 13 feet or more away from your computer. This can be a great added bonus while dictating a letter using some form of speech recognition software. You can now pace the floor while expressing your idea without the restrictions of cables as the computer puts your words into a text format. You can see the advantages if you are a creative writer or multi-task you can now legitimately think more instead of being tied down to your computer screen. A small extension from the headset captures your words as your brain and mouth work in unison without the restrictions previous audio input devices had.

A wireless audio input device fits over your head and may contain one or two ear covers or speakers. One of the advantages that I found is that it allows you the freedom to grab a cup of coffee or look over notes while dictating to your speech recognition software. These units have a chargeable battery installed in the headset which can give you many hours of enjoyment either you are just listening to some good music or dictating an prominent letter to your computer. Which is the best microphone for you?

Price is the biggest consideration. Low priced desktop microphones have their purpose to start with but if you use your microphone ongoing with webinars or podcasts I'm sure the headset model will great suit your needs. A Usb wireless microphone allows much freedom but remember to charge the battery to avoid disappointment.
